Capitol Flexi-Pave was proud to work with Make-A-Wish Foundation in making Carlin’s wish come true.

June 2015 Letter from Make-A-Wish Foundation: “The Mid-Atlantic Chapter has been granting wishes to children battling life-threatening medical conditions in Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland and central and southern Delaware for the last 30 years. More specifically we need your help to grant the wish of Carlin, age 6 from Crofton, Maryland. When Carlin was two years old her parents noticed that she was not walking and moving like other children her age. After finding out Carlin has a developmental condition that does not allow her muscles to form normally, they then found out that she was also diagnosed with leukemia. Between therapies, and treatments Carlin has been through more in her short six years than most of us have in our adult lives. When Carlin found out she could receive a wish, she knew immediately that she wanted a garden play set in her backyard. Carlin’s play set will not just provide endless hours of fun but can also help with many of her developmental conditions. Due to her condition a play set like this will help Carlin build up muscle growth and act as ongoing therapy…For every wish granted by our local Chapter there are at least two more children waiting to receive their wish of a lifetime. Partnerships, like ours, help the Chapter fulfill their mission of granting a wish to every eligible child in their community. Thank you very much for your support and for helping us to share the power of a wish.”

The Flexi-Pave portion of the work was completed in late July 2015. Chosen colors for Flexi-Pave playground consisted of alternating bands of Olive Fog (720 SF) and Redwood (1128 SF). Additionally, a 754 SF walkway was installed; Flexi-Pave walkway color is River Rock.
