In planning for many years and the secret desire of many at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Zoological Park. A Carousel has finally been built. But it is no ordinary carousel. This one features zoo animals instead of horses. Also it was designed to be environmentally friendly and therefore uses photovoltaic cells to power part of the equipment. It also features porous flexible pavement, better know as Flexi-Pave. The reviews of Flexi-Pave being used at the carousel by both visitors and Smithsonian Staff have been excellent to date.
