A long neglected park in Northeast Washington DC got a facelift in 2012. Part of a complete renovation performed by EYA was to incorporate Flexi-Pave trails throughout the park. What before was a run-down litter filled park is now a pleasant stop for walks with the kids or a dog. Visitors can peruse 3 trails that meet in the center of the park where a 40 foot diameter courtyard surrounded with benches is found. A requirement from the District of Columbia’s Landscape Architect and the DDOT city Arborists was to not harm the mature willow oak trees that were located throughout the park. And thanks to the inherent properties of Flexi-Pave, whereby it allows both water and air to flow through it, the tree roots are able to thrive untouched.
